- ➤ Escondido Art Association is hosting its Spring Awakening juried exhibit at No. IslandCredit Union on 1230 Auto Parkway. Art entries are due Feb. 11 with art taken on Feb. 28 from 11 to 4 p.m., and the show opens Mar. 5 and runs through May 30. The Vista Press
- ➤ Escondido Art Association launches three art events: a Life Drawing class on Feb. 2 at North Island Credit Union, a live Art Forum on Feb. 12 at Grand Ave Gallery, and an Abstract & Expressionism exhibition with submissions open until Feb. 7 and a reception on Feb. 14. The Vista Press

- ➤ The Escondido City Council approved The Maple, a proposed five-story multifamily development with 128 units on a site (1.04 acres) across West Valley Parkway from City Hall at Tuesday's meeting.
