- ➤ Joe Onda, founder of Joe’s Italian Dinners in Escondido (beloved locally), passed away after serving the community for 46 years. - ➤ Apple will close its Escondido store at Mershops North County Mall in June due to declining mall conditions, and team members will be reassigned to nearby stores as part of a nationwide shutdown of three locations. CBS8
- ➤ The new South Escondido Chik-fil-A on Centre City Parkway & 515 West 13th Ave was inaugurated with a ribbon cutting on April 8 and a grand opening on April 9, with leaders including Mayor Dane White present. - ➤ Mosaic Theatricals will present ‘Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress,’ a theater production for young audiences from April 24 through May 2 at the Kalmia St. Black Box Theater at Patio Playhouse Community & Youth Theatre.
