  • The San Diego Foundation celebrated 50 years by awarding a $150,000 grant from the Jay Khan Endowment to the David's Harp Foundation—an organization founded by Brandon Steppe that trains underserved youth in music, video production, and graphic design. The foundation began in a garage and now helps young people facing challenges from the justice system, foster care, or homelessness—offering new skills for a brighter future.  CBS8

HEALTH NEWS

  • Alzheimer’s San Diego is worried its federal grant for the Alz Ally program (which helps people with dementia living alone) may be reduced due to planned changes at the Administration for Community Living. President and CEO Eugenia Welch said the uncertainty may force the group to seek new funding to keep offering free support services.  NBC San Diego
