  • The San Diego Zoo Safari Park welcomed a male Masai giraffe calf last week in its South Africa habitat. Born on April 23 to mother Mara and father Gowon, the endangered calf stays with its dam while other giraffes help watch over it—ensuring the mother can feed.  CBS8

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Assemblymember Lisa Calderon introduced a bill today to cut rooftop solar energy credits from 20 years to 10 and to end credits when homes are sold, a change that could affect over 2 million solar customers statewide—drawing sharp criticism from homeowners and clean energy groups. The bill will be reviewed by the Utilities and Energy Committee today.  CBS8
