- ➤ Genesis Opera Theatre performed Gilbert and Sullivan’s 'Trial By Jury' last weekend at Trinity Episcopal Church as a joint benefit for both organizations. - ➤ Escondido's annual Miss Escondido Pageant was held April 25 at the Historic Ritz Theater with 16 local contestants competing for Jr. Miss, Teen Miss and Miss Escondido titles. - ➤ California Center for the Arts launched its free Música en la Plaza series last Friday in the Lyric Courtyard (an outdoor venue) with Carlos y Charlos performing Norteño music. - ➤ Goodwill Industries is launching a program to recycle soft plastics, including bubble wrap, grocery bags and packing film at select drop-off locations in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
