- ➤ Sand N’ Straw Community Farm offers a year-round CSA with fresh produce and local products available for pickup (Wed 1-4pm, Sat 8-1pm) while also hosting summer camps, guided tours and gardening workshops for families. The Vista Press
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The 26th Cruisin’ Grand opens Friday, June 5 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Grand Ave and nearby streets, showcasing American made classics + muscle and heritage cars with themed nights honoring military on July 3 and first responders on September 11 and live music rounding out the event. - ➤ Mayor Dane White moved the artwork of four medal awardees from the Mayor’s Art Contest to City Council Chambers, where it will be on display through the end of May. Escondido Times-Advocate
- ➤ On Wednesday, county supervisors approved a plan to invest up to $2.75 million in arts programs and creative spaces throughout underserved neighborhoods. The proposal includes an artist grant program and Black Arts and Culture District investments (guidelines ensure accountability) and was supported by community input. The Coast News

- ➤ The Regional Task Force on Homelessness released new figures showing Escondido’s unsheltered homeless declined 11.7%, from 307 in 2025 to 271 in 2026. City officials credit public-private partnerships for expanding detox beds and shelter programs, marking two years of steady progress. Escondido Times-Advocate
- ➤ Data from the Get Noisy network shows that 77% of Palomar Airport's flights in April exceeded 65 decibels and 15% reached 80 decibels. A Board of Supervisors meeting on May 20 (Wed, 9AM) and a PAAC meeting on May 21 (Thu, 6PM) will address additional American Airlines flights. The Vista Press
