ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On May 10, a small fire broke out in a second-floor apartment at 1342 N Escondido Blvd and firefighters contained the blaze in about an hour while evacuating residents and limiting water damage to 7 units (the cause is under investigation).  City of Escondido

  • The Chamber will host a business event at 1230 Auto Park Way where David Alemian will present his 'Alemian Solution'—a new approach to employee loyalty as the National Veterans Chamber of Commerce joins the session to discuss talent retention and business growth; registration is free for members and $10 for non-members.  The Vista Press

  • Vista Irrigation District awarded six high school seniors $1,500 scholarships and chose three fourth-grade students to receive $100, $50, and $25 for winning its water awareness poster contest — the contest drew 230 entries and the winning art will be shown in the 2026 Water Awareness Calendar.   • Rep. Mike Levin called Monday for $60 million to fund a new coastal surveillance system after a May 5 smuggling event killed three people, including a 14-year-old boy while his 10-year-old sister remains missing, and a Sunday incident near Windansea Beach led to nine migrants detained and federal charges against five people — he urged lawmakers to boost coastal security and reform immigration measures.  NBC San Diego
