- ➤ On Thursday morning, a private jet crashed in the Murphy Canyon neighborhood and the quick actions of the McCarty family and their neighbor—who held a ladder steady—helped them escape with two young children and two dogs. The family has since been moved to a Santo Terrace home in their military housing community—while about 40 to 50 families remain displaced with uncertain return dates. NBC San Diego
