Good morning, Escondido.

An abandoned house at 5154 Mariner Dr in Ocean View Hills caught fire Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. and police suspect it was set on purpose—firefighters controlled the blaze in one hour despite damage to two floors, the attic and the roof with no injuries reported.

On Tuesday night, the Padres erased a six-run deficit to win 8–6 over the Marlins as Luis Arraez drove in both the tying and go-ahead runs.

Ronny Simón’s fielding errors — including a misplayed grounder that allowed extra runs — set the stage for the comeback win.
