- ➤ Pirates lefty Bailey Falter allowed two hits over 6.1 shutout innings as his team won 5-0 at Petco Park while evening the weekend series. Padres starter Dylan Cease allowed three runs and was pulled in the 5th after throwing 95 pitches as the team plans to win the series on Sunday with Randy Vasquez on the mound. NBC San Diego
- ➤ The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Padres 5 to 0 on Saturday night—snapping a 10-game losing streak with Andrew McCutchen’s long homer and Bailey Falter’s strong pitching. Padres pitcher Dylan Cease struggled while multiple relievers kept the game controlled. CBS8
- ➤ San Diego FC won 2-0 at home when local players Luca de la Torre from La Jolla and Milan Iloski from Escondido scored the winning goals after a loss in Austin in March—marking the first time two San Diego natives scored in one game. The team will now prepare for a monthlong international break as several players join their national teams. NBC San Diego
