  • American Legion Post 365 — VFW Post 7041 will host a Trivia Night on June 25th where local residents can join in a friendly contest.  The Vista Press

CRIME NEWS

  • On Saturday early in the morning two suspects burglarized Pazzo's Pizza in Scripps Ranch and stole an empty cash register and three tablets for food delivery—owner David Vitale said minimal damage occurred, a police report was filed, and deliveries will pause for about a week as a $1,000 reward is offered for tips.  NBC San Diego

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Escondido officials warn that buying, possessing, or using fireworks is illegal and dangerous because they can cause fires and injuries - even sparklers burn at high temperatures. The Fire Department launched a Fireworks Collection Campaign from June 21-July 5 and the city will host a free fireworks show on July 4 at 9 p.m.  City of Escondido

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday night, Tatis Jr. ended his 98-at-bat homerless streak with a 3-run home run that gave the Padres a 5-1 win over the Royals in San Diego. On Thursday, he was hit by a fastball in Los Angeles, which led to a benches-clearing incident and tests for injury — adding extra drama to an already eventful week.  NBC San Diego
