Escondido awarded a $2.36 million contract for its first-ever splash pad at Grove Park (745 N.

Ash St.) on July 23, and Western State Builders will begin work in September with the project expected to open by spring. The construction will close parts of the park for six months while the city works with local schools to set up alternative parking.
