CRIME NEWS

  • A San Diego woman, 33-year-old Kandilaria Freeman, was arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was fatally stabbed at the Escondido Transit Center on Saturday — officers arrived at about 8 a.m., provided first aid, and the man later died at Palomar Medical Center.  CBS8

ECONOMY NEWS

  • San Diego County's 2025 tax roll showed that property assessments reached a record $806 billion, with Vista at $18.24 billion and San Marcos at $19.98 billion, reflecting gains over last year. County officials said the record tax roll brought an extra $7.73 billion in revenue to support local schools, libraries and public safety—ensuring steady funding for key services.  The Vista Press
