- ➤ Escondido approved a $56 million energy infrastructure overhaul called the Citywide Energy Roadmap that will upgrade aging systems at city facilities over the next three years — aiming to save over $83 million in the long run. The project will install new HVAC, LED lighting and solar panels, and it is funded through a mix of a financing agreement and local funds. The Coast News
