- ➤ On September 18, Tuscan Hills Senior Living held its grand opening at 3141 E Valley Pkwy in Escondido—attended by Mayor Dane White, Executive Director David Alspach, and Assemblywoman Darshana Patel, with guests sampling food from several countries. - ➤ Nicholas and his 1950 Chevy pickup truck were chosen as the sponsor pick trophy winner by Kate and Bob of Sunny Side Kitchen during Cruisin’ Grand in downtown Escondido. - ➤ Artists can apply for the Esco Alley Art Creek Trail Mural Project to have their 36x24 canvas turned into a large mural displayed along Escondido Creek Trail, with works reflecting local agriculture and wildlife. They must submit an application by October 15 and a digital mock-up by October 31, with six finalists—chosen by a jury—receiving a $200 prize and the chance to finish their work by picking up a canvas on November 20 and completing it by December 20.
