- ➤ Palomar Health is applying for Round 2: Unmet Needs of a state grant to expand behavioral health services after a $50M award was rescinded for lack of a $5M cash match, and board members on Oct. 21 said reapplying is necessary—its plans for an 84,700-square-foot psychiatric hospital on its Escondido campus face delays. The board also approved a new partnership with UC San Diego Health—this project will include a cancer center and expanded specialty services, with the grant application due on Oct. 28. The Coast News
