On Thursday morning, a private jet crashed in the Murphy Canyon neighborhood and the quick actions of the McCarty family and their neighbor—who held a ladder steady—helped them escape with two young children and two dogs.
The family has since been moved to a Santo Terrace home in their military housing community—while about 40 to 50 families remain displaced with uncertain return dates.

On Friday night, the Padres snapped their six game losing streak with a 2—1 win over the Braves at Truist Park after Manny Machado hit a ninth inning home run and Gavin Sheets added a solo shot.
