- ➤ At the June meeting, Darren Gretler of Supervisor Desmond’s Office and Caltrans representatives presented updates on budget challenges—including a $138 million shortfall in requested funds and an $8.6 billion allocation—and planned improvements to State Route 78 near Escondido.
