Escondido Recreation will host the End of Summer Glow Party at Washington Park Pool on Saturday, August 10 from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.—tickets will cost $5 and the event will feature glow-in-the-dark music, games and giveaways.

The Labor Day Open Swim will take place at the same location on Monday, September 2 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.—entry will be $5 per person or $13 for up to five members of a household.

Starting this week, construction crews are upgrading water facilities on Bear Valley Parkway north of San Pasqual Road by closing a traffic lane and a bike lane every weekday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for four weeks—flag crews and signs will help direct traffic and ensure water delivery remains reliable.

City Manager Sean McGlynn directed street repairs in Escondido using sales tax revenue from Measure I passed last November, with funds set to be fully allocated after the Citizens Oversight Committee met beginning August 6.

Repair work has caused minor delays as crews reduce road lanes—drivers may wait a few extra minutes for the smoother ride once repairs are complete.
